Join us on a tour of the famous Wedgwood Factory for a behind-the-scenes experience that reveals how Wedgwood pottery is   designed, created and crafted.

Discover the craftsmanship of the famous jasperware, a unique invention by renown Josiah Wedgwood.  You will marvel at the extraordinary skills of the talented workers who cast, glaze, decorate and gild in the  original 1940s working factory.

On the same site is the V & A Wedgwood Collection which is free to look around.

There are several Cafes on-site serving breakfast and lunches at reasonable prices.

There are also a selection of shops including a ‘Seconds’ shop.

Join us on an outing to the beautiful Shropshire town of Bridgnorth where we will spend time mid-morning looking around the sights and perhaps enjoying a morning coffee.

The Down Inn is the chosen venue for lunch and comes highly recommended.  Entertainment to follow. Hot and cold drinks can be purchased at the bar.

PHOENIX ART CLUB

Places are now available for this activity

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned artist,  you’re welcome to come along to the Phoenix Art Group which is held at the Haling Dene Centre in Penkridge on Thursday morning between 10:00am and 12:00 noon. Places are limited due to the size of the room.

You will need to bring your own equipment with you – paints, paper, canvas, brushes etc as these aren’t provided.

A £3.00 session fee is payable to cover the room hire and incidentals

PENKRIDGE PHOENIX CLUB NEWSLETTER – DECEMBER 2023

Hello Everyone

Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas having done all your shopping, I wish!!! Can’t believe its so close.

We would like to welcome Margaret Kirkland and Elizabeth Rozenfelds to the committee who I’m sure you will agree will be an asset and who have already started making plans for a trip in June.

As you will see, we’re making arrangements for events, trips, social evenings well into 2024 and hope that many of you will be joining us and enjoying them.

Some of the details aren’t finalised, however, these will be made known at the coffee morning held once a month on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Peace Memorial Hall in the village at 10.00am or by email as they become available.

As you may remember, it’s our practice to sends cards to any of our members who are ill, at home or in hospital and we would like to continue this. If you know of any member who aren’t feeling so good, please let me know and a card will be sent to them to let them know they are in our thoughts.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at all of our events and outings during 2024 and on behalf of the committee, wishing you Seasonal Greetings, a very Happy Christmas and Peace, Joy and Good Health in the coming year.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM will be held on Thursday 12th October 2023 at the Peace Memorial Hall in Penkridge at 11.00am as part of the monthly Members Coffee Morning. All Members are welcome and the Committee would like to see as many Members there as possible. Refreshments will be available at 10.30am
